Halifax integrated health clinic — physiotherapy, chiropractic, massage & more.
Andrea’s path into massage therapy was shaped by her own experience as a patient. Having benefited personally from therapeutic massage, she knew it was the kind of work she wanted to dedicate herself to — helping others the way she had been helped.
She attended the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in Halifax, where she earned the “Wholistic Therapist Award” and graduated with honours. Since graduating, she has pursued additional training in cupping and Gua Sha — continuing to expand her toolkit in response to her patients’ needs.
Originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick, Andrea made Halifax her home in 2021. Outside the clinic, she is a long-distance runner, a painter, a live music enthusiast, and a volunteer at Hospice Halifax — a reflection of the same care and commitment she brings to her patients.
Andrea’s treatments are both effective and empowering. She believes that good massage therapy does more than relieve tension in the moment — it gives patients a better understanding of their body and leaves them feeling more capable and informed about their health. Her sessions incorporate a diverse range of techniques, adapted to the individual’s needs:
Flowing, rhythmic strokes that address full-body tension, improve circulation, and form the foundation for more targeted work. Andrea uses Swedish massage as the connective tissue of most sessions — building toward deeper therapeutic goals.
Sustained, gentle-to-firm pressure into fascial restrictions to improve tissue flexibility, reduce chronic tension patterns, and restore range of motion. Particularly useful for postural issues and recurring musculoskeletal complaints.
Cupping uses negative pressure to lift tissue and promote circulation in areas of deep tension. Gua Sha uses a smooth-edged tool to stimulate microcirculation and release superficial fascia. Both are especially effective for back and shoulder tightness and chronic soft tissue restrictions.
Targeted techniques to restore joint range of motion and address hyperirritble muscle trigger points — useful for reducing referred pain and resolving tension patterns that don’t respond to general massage work alone.
A specialized technique involving gentle intra-oral work to address temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD) — conditions involving jaw pain, clicking, tension headaches related to the jaw, and limited mouth opening. This is a distinct specialty that Andrea has trained in specifically, and one of the few services of its kind available at the clinic.
Andrea begins every new patient appointment with a thorough intake — understanding your health history, current concerns, and treatment goals. She takes an empowering approach: she explains what she is doing, helps you understand what she finds, and gives you practical knowledge about your body that you leave with every time.
Sessions are adapted to your goals and comfort. Pressure, technique, and focus evolve based on your response — because the best session for you changes depending on where your body is and what it needs that day.
